Frequently asked questions
What counts as an annotation?
Comments and sticky notes, highlights, underlines and strikethroughs, stamps, drawings, text boxes and clickable link areas that sit on top of the page.
Are form fields removed too?
No. Fillable form fields are kept, so forms still work. Use Batch flatten PDF forms if you want to lock their values.
Will the text I highlighted disappear?
No. The underlying text stays; only the highlight marking on top of it is removed. Your original files are never modified.
What about password-protected PDFs?
They are flagged and skipped. Remove the password first with Batch unlock PDF, then edit them.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The annotations are removed entirely in your browser tab, so your PDFs never leave your device.
