Pages with at least one redaction are converted to a flat image before download, so hidden text and objects underneath can't be recovered — not just visually covered. Those pages lose their selectable/searchable text layer.

Only JPEG images inside the PDF are recompressed — text and vector graphics stay untouched and fully searchable. Other image types (PNG, scanned black-and-white formats) aren't recompressed yet, and a PDF with little or no image content may not shrink much.

Feel free to edit the text before copying — nothing here is sent anywhere. Only real, selectable text is extracted; scanned/image-only pages won't produce text here — try VitePDF's OCR tool for those.

Compare two PDFs

This is a visual comparison — each page is rendered as an image and checked pixel by pixel, so it catches text, layout, and image changes alike, but it doesn't diff the underlying text word-for-word. Everything happens in your browser.

Repair a PDF

Repair tries two things: first, rebuilding the file's internal structure while keeping everything editable and searchable — this recovers most real-world corruption. If the damage is too severe for that, it falls back to recovering whatever individual pages can still be read as images.

Scanning for images…

This version pulls out JPEG images (the most common kind in scanned and photo-heavy PDFs). Other embedded formats — PNG, indexed color, scanned black-and-white — aren't extracted yet.

Edit PDF metadata

Leave any field blank to remove that piece of information entirely. Everything else about the file — pages, text, formatting — stays exactly as it was.

Read PDF aloud

Feel free to edit the text before playing — useful for skipping over garbled extraction. Reading happens entirely in your browser using its built-in voice; nothing is uploaded.

Find & remove blank/duplicate pages

Blank pages are detected by how much of the page has any content at all. Duplicates are found with a pixel-by-pixel visual comparison against every earlier page, so near-identical pages are caught even if they're not next to each other.

Combine pages for printing

Each original page is placed as real vector content, not a flattened image — text inside stays sharp when printed, though it's too small on the sheet to select or search afterward.

Convert to grayscale

Every page is converted to a flat, black-and-white image, so the result is no longer searchable/selectable text, and text-heavy files may end up larger, not smaller. If you just need a grayscale print, choosing "Black & white" in your printer's own dialog usually gives a sharper result without converting the file at all — use this tool when you need an actual grayscale file to share.

Adds a bookmarks panel that most PDF readers show down the side, linking straight to each page. This version supports one flat list (no nested sub-sections yet). Saving replaces any bookmarks the PDF already has.
