Frequently asked questions
What split methods are available?
Three: every N pages (for example every 1 page gives one PDF per page), a number of equal parts (a 10-page file in 3 parts becomes 4 + 3 + 3 pages), and page ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, 7- where 7- means page 7 to the end.
What happens if a file has fewer pages than my ranges?
Ranges that start past the last page are skipped for that file, and a range that runs past the end is cut at the last page. If none of your ranges match a file, that file is marked as failed and the others still finish.
How are the output files named and organised?
Each part is named after the original file with a sequence number and its page numbers, for example report_02_p4-6.pdf. In the ZIP, every original PDF gets its own folder.
Can I split password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Remove the password first with Batch unlock PDF, then split the unlocked copies. Protected files are flagged instead of producing broken output.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Splitting runs entirely in your browser tab, so your PDFs never leave your device.
