Why batch protect with VitePDF

  • Lock a whole folder of contracts, invoices or reports with one password in a single pass.
  • Nothing is uploaded — your documents and your password never leave your device.
  • Strong AES-256 encryption, so the files open in any modern PDF reader once the password is entered.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of encryption is used?

Files are encrypted with AES-256, the strongest standard PDF encryption. Any current PDF reader will ask for the password before showing the document.

Do all files get the same password?

Yes — the password you type is applied to every file in the batch. To use different passwords, run separate batches.

Can I recover a forgotten password?

No. The password is not stored anywhere and cannot be recovered, so keep it somewhere safe. Always keep the original unprotected files as well.

What if a PDF is already protected?

It is flagged and skipped instead of being re-encrypted. Remove its password first with Batch unlock PDF, then protect it again.

Are my files or password uploaded anywhere?

No. Encryption runs entirely in your browser tab, so your PDFs and your password never leave your device.
