Frequently asked questions

In what order are the files merged?

In the order shown in the list, from top to bottom. Use the up and down arrows to move a file, and the merged PDF follows that order page by page.

What happens to files that are locked or damaged?

A password-protected or unreadable file cannot be merged. It is marked as failed and skipped, and the remaining files are still combined into one PDF.

Will the quality of my pages change?

No. The pages are copied as they are, without re-rendering, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Bookmarks of the original files are not kept.

What about password-protected PDFs?

They are flagged and skipped. Remove the password first with Batch unlock PDF, then edit them.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDFs are merged entirely in your browser tab, so they never leave your device.
