Batch add header and footer
to many PDFs at once.
Need the same running text on every page of many documents — a document title, a reference number, a date or "Page 3 of 12"? Type your header and footer once and this tool stamps them on every page of every PDF. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Use {page}, {total}, {name} and {date} in the text. Only Latin characters are supported. Nothing is uploaded.

Stamps your own header and footer text on every page, with automatic page number, total, file name and date.
How to add a header and footer to PDFs in batch
- Drop in all the PDFs you want to stamp.
- Type your header and footer text.
- Click Add header and footer. Each file is stamped one at a time, right in your browser.
- Download one stamped file, or click Download all (ZIP) to get everything at once.
Why batch add headers and footers with VitePDF
- Label a whole set of documents consistently in one go — contract numbers, confidentiality notices, dates or page counts — instead of editing each file by hand.
- Nothing is uploaded — your documents never leave your device.
- Placeholders fill themselves in: the page number, total pages, file name and today's date change on every page and file.
Frequently asked questions
Which placeholders can I use?
Type {page} for the current page number, {total} for the number of pages, {name} for the file name (without .pdf) and {date} for today's date. For example, "{name} — page {page} of {total}".
Can I use any characters in the text?
The text is drawn in a standard Latin font, so letters used in Western European languages, digits and common symbols work. Characters from other scripts (Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese and so on) and emoji are not supported, and such a file is reported as failed instead of being stamped incorrectly.
Where is the text placed?
The header is centred near the top edge and the footer near the bottom edge of each page, in small dark grey type. Rotated pages are handled so the text stays at the visual top and bottom.
What about password-protected PDFs?
They are flagged and skipped. Remove the password first with Batch unlock PDF, then edit them.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDFs are processed entirely in your browser tab, so they never leave your device.
