Why batch add a background color with VitePDF

  • Give a whole folder of documents the same soft background in one go, instead of editing each file separately.
  • Nothing is uploaded — your documents never leave your device.
  • The original content is placed on top as it is, so text stays sharp and selectable.

Frequently asked questions

Will the text still be selectable?

Yes. The original page is placed on top of the color unchanged, so text stays sharp and selectable. Links and form fields are not carried over, though.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

The color only shows through transparent areas. Pages that have their own solid white or picture background, such as scans, will look unchanged because that background covers the color.

Can I convert password-protected PDFs?

Not directly. A file that needs a password to open is reported as locked — remove the password first with the batch unlock tool, then convert it.

What about password-protected PDFs?

They are flagged and skipped. Remove the password first with Batch unlock PDF, then edit them.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDFs are processed entirely in your browser tab, so they never leave your device.
